i spoiled her rotten, i was there for her every second of every day or night. anything she wanted/needed i gave her without hesitation.
i grew up with a very high respect for all women, to be treated like diamonds. but it wasn't good enough for her. i stood on the sidelines for 9 years, watching her go from boyfriend to boyfriend.
i knew i was stupid for waiting for her but i really believed that if i waited long enough, she would see that i wanted to a chance to make her happy. she was always complaining about how lazy or jerkoffs her boyfriends were, it crushed my spirit knowing that what she said she wanted out of a man was what i wanted to be to her and more. to show her that no one could treat her as good as i wanted to, i loved her as my best friend, and had feelings for her for the longest time and feel pathetic for doing so. if i did my best with her and failed, what chance do i have of succeeding with any other girl?

Dude, there's a saying you need to learn:

"If you put women on a pedestal, you will get kicked in the face."

If you're too nice to them, they won't want anything to do with you. You grew up wrong. Women don't like NICE guys . . . they like guys who won't put up with their crap. You come off as desperate when you treat women the way you have been. What you have been isn't a gentleman, but a wimp. And even though that is EXACTLY what almost all women SAY they are looking for, that is not the kind of guy they date.

Take heart! You can change your behavior and thought processes. First of all, realize that all the love advice you've ever had is very questionable. Then, check out these links:

OK, start by reading these advice columns:

Then, when you realize what a genius that dude is, listen to his radio show (download it so you can skip the ads):

http://www.worldtalkradio.com/show.asp?sid=202 (archives)

I recommend you get his book as well . . . it will not necessarily get you a girl, but it will help you realize what you've been doing wrong all your life. It's worth the $100. Here is his main website:
http://www.doclove.com/

He's not some gimmick pick up artist, and he's not trying to get you laid. He gives solid advice. If you do what he advises, you will be doing much better than you have been.

Good night!

Did you ever tell her?If not u should have....you seem like a great guy for being there for her..that's what counts.Maybe its just that she just sees you as a friend. Its been 9 years so I think you should pursue someone else...or if you still feel for her that deeply plz tell her.Maybe hearing it from her will make you realize you must move on.Shes so lucky to have a friend like you.You defiantly have a chance with other girls...treat them the way you always treat woman but you must show ur interest in that one girl you like more then the rest....I wish you all the best of luck.

You should try to forget her. It sounds like you are too good for her. a lot of girls don't know what they want. The best thing is to keep improving yourself and keep your respectable traits and morals. While she is falling for jerkoff "bad boys," you are being reponsible and maybe building a career. Just wait, 5 to ten years from now, you'll have so many girls in line, because you treat them well, youre a gentleman, and you have your life together. She will come back begging, then you humbly say, "No, you had your chances."

i have a theory that maybe u were too easy and giving. relationships should be balanced. one person shouldnt do all the work.

you have a great chance with any other girl! dont let one bad experience get to you!

also, how to mend a broken heart. well, for me, i realized that i had to move on because being depressed wasnt helping the situation at all. if i really wanted to be happy, i knew i would have to get myself together and go look for a new guy~

There is all kinds of heart breaks. I'm never had mine broken by a man I feel in love with but by my supposed to be fathers. I don't believe you can truly ever 100% get over heart break. Heart break is always there but you can move on. Don't let one woman ruin your chance to be happy. I bet loads of women would love to be with you. And from the sounds of it they could do no better. Putting your heart on the line is always hard it can get stepped on but putting it back out there again shows true strength I believe you could put your heart out there again and love you just need to believe in yourself any girl would be lucky to have you.
