Ive always bought domestic garlic before and I recall it would go bad in a couple weeks. Is this some kind of chinese frankenfood?

I don't think there is a genetically modified garlic out there yet. It might be irradiated so it doesn't sprout so quickly. I heard that thats what we do for potatoes. As for 2 weeks, what state are you from? I'm from California and the domestic stay good for months, but the domestic usually come from California. I prefer California, because the Chinese last a month. Shipping in a hot humid container cuts its lifespan. I buy the CHinese because their cheap though. It could be that California garlic may take longer to get to your state. 2 weeks is an awfully short lifespan for garlic.
