In my opinion, this is a very hard answer ...but I'll give it a try. I don't think there is really "a best Christian". All who profess to follow the Christian faith (tries to keep the commandments) that God gave to Moses.

But, we as sinners can't keep them. We are dirty as rags as the bible says....we are sinners. So all we can do is have faith in Jesus Christ who came into the world to save us....and be sorry for our sins and hope we will be saved and believe it. In my own mind I feel there are many "best Christians" many unknown people who live quietly going about their work at home or at work doing for others and living each day like it's their last day on earth.

They are thinking how can I help this person and not thinking of themselves....or instead of buying a new car they drive the old one and use that money to help someone in need. The "best Christian" has a open eye for those who are without and forgets the world and all it's treasures for themselves.

The old lady standing at the bus stop with the wind blowing her gray hair might be the "best Christian" only God knows...and he has the list of names.

Only sensible answer so far is from Frater Lazarus. The "best" Christian I ever met is a quiet woman, nobody further than a mile or so from her village will know her, who simply tries to love and help those around her as Christ directed, asking nothing in return.

Benny Hinn? That evil, money-grubbing little con-man? Ha!

The 12 Apostles and the followers that where around during Jesus' time on earth I would think. Paul comes to mind....he killed in Gods name all Christians because they went against Jewish law, but after he learned what Christ represented and he became a Christian himself and had to humble himself to other Christians.

Good answers from frater_lazarus, and abetterfate. Though I suppose many of the lunatic fringe of Christianity who inhabit this site really do think that there is a league table.

The best Christians are those who live the quiet, loving life of which Christ spoke.

Paul? He confused the message so much.

Benny Hinn? I think "evil, money-grubbing little con-man" is a kindness to him (and his kind)

itsyouandmebb - do you preach like that to the girls you mention in you profile?

You, if you accept Jesus.
Jesus is asking you today, Who do you say that I am?
That’s the main question,-------- the one which will determine your eternal soul’s destination.

You know, He was not a good man or a teacher as many grudgingly speak of Him.
He was one of three things.
1.He was a lunatic, a madman, suffering from delusions of grandeur; or
2.He was a liar, a deceiver trying to pass himself off as something he was not, or,
3.He is Lord of all Life, and He holds all Life in His hands now and forever.
There are no other possibilities—Because He made His three great claims: “I am God, I will raise the dead, and I will be the final judge.”
Accept Jesus as Saviour, or suffer the consequences of sin forever.

Was? Kenny. He's been reborn far more than Christ ever was.

Thats a tough one. As we cant weigh all the merits of all the Christians that ever existed I think the right question would be "Who was the most popular Christian?" My answer...Saul. He was responsible for kick starting Christianity. Without him it would have never been possible.
