There's laser and electrolysis. Laser is less expensive, but not permanent the first time like electrolysis. You could probably get six laser sessions on your back for about $2000 that will bring you a long way toward removal. Also, you'll be smooth and hairless for much of the year during those six treatments. Then, if you still want to get rid of the remaining soft, fine hair that grows back in after the laser treatments (which I don't know why you would, it'll be looking nice by this time...just my opinion) you may need to do electrolysis at $50-75 for every 15 mins. to permanently get rid of the rest. This could be another six grand, as electrolysis deals with individual hair shafts, but unlike laser, it's permanent the first time.

I live in Arizona and I've had 7 laser treatments on my underarms for $420. My last one was four months ago. There are only a few hairs that have come back, and they're very fine. In a year's time, a lot more hairs will have returned and I'll get a few more treatments. Some people have to get one or two treatments per year to maintain hairlessness.

it will be expensive. I won a A$300 gift certificate for american laser center and thought it was a great thing. Turns out it wasn't much help at all. It was going to cost about $1000 (before the gift certificate) to remove about 10 hairs (literally- that is even what the woman said) from around my belly button.
