I'm sure if she has no experience she'll be nervous, but if you are patient and encouraging, I think she will become confident and like it a lot!

But of course a lady who is inexperienced of any kind of dance, much more with the basics would be terrified being there on the spot learning her first lessons. Even if she gets the best DI in the world still she'd feel inept. Furthermore, it'd better if you'll be dancing in private. The sole knowledge that there will be spectators around ogling would really mean a disaster.

Umm both. You might want to make sure she kinda knows what is going to be happening. Cause what happens if she doesn't like to dance. Thats why she is observing. And second. Some people aren't the type to just jump in.

very frightened. and i would want to... GUESS WHAT... stand by the side and "observe". if you have that much experience and she has zero, can't you see her side?
what if she told you that you would "participate" in something you've never done, like.. scubadive with sharks in the nude.. would you be scared? lol
i'd let her observe for a bit until SHE is ready. you can do a little coaxing, but five bucks says she wears the wrong shoes ;)
good luck

Um, you will have to take it slow with her dude. If she's never danced before, then she'll get tired of dancing rather quickly.
It's like going jogging for me. I usually jog, but if I am jogging with a girl, and she isn't up to my speed, I'll slow down for her instead of just cruising along at my own pace.
