I was just wondering if the church had guidelines for minors receiving sacramental wine at communion.

Yes.

The Catholic Church can give a sip of the Blood of Christ to minors. This is a religious practice protected by the freedom of religion in the Constitution of most countries.

The Catholic Church even used Eucharistic wine during the Prohibition Era in the United States.

With love in Christ.

No, because although the wine is not strong enough to readily get you drunk, it is still an alcoholic beverage. When I used to assist in serving mass, I remember a certain brand of wine they use called Mompo. I don't know if they still use this brand of grape wine, but I remember me and the other altar boys use to save the very last drops of this wine until there is enough for us to drink and get a little buzzed, so again, they are not allowed to do so..

Yes because it is not like a hard liquor. It is a special wine and a person takes about a sip...nothing really major. Plus with it being religious it's ok.

Yes. No one receives much more than a small sip of the precious blood of Christ, so there is no danger of any negative effects, even for children as young as eight.

If you read the greek (the way the NT was written) you will find that wine is just grape juice....how can your lords blood be fermented? For shame!

Yes, but catholics don't believe that it is wine after it is blessed. We believe that it is transformed into the blood of Christ, not just a representation of his blood.

Yes, it's protected by the Constitution.

(That's in the United States -- I'm not sure about other countries.)
