Because dinosaurs are not important in the BIBLE what's important is that you learn from the history on the BIBLE on how to follow GOd and to serve HIM.

It's all about the teaching of God on how we can save our souls.

The topic of dinosaurs in the Bible is part of a larger ongoing debate within the Christian community over the age of the earth, the proper interpretation of Genesis, and how to interpret the physical evidences we find all around us. Those who believe in an older age for the earth tend to agree that the Bible does not mention dinosaurs, because, according to their paradigm, dinosaurs died out millions of years before the first man ever walked the earth. The men who wrote the Bible could not have seen living dinosaurs.

Those who believe in a younger age for the earth tend to agree that the Bible does mention dinosaurs, though it never actually uses the word “dinosaur.” Instead, it uses the Hebrew word tanniyn, which is translated a few different ways in our English Bibles. Sometimes it’s “sea monster,” and sometimes it’s “serpent.” It is most commonly translated “dragon.” The tanniyn appear to have been some sort of giant reptile. These creatures are mentioned nearly thirty times in the Old Testament and were found both on land and in the water.

In addition to mentioning these giant reptiles, the Bible describes a couple of creatures in such a way that some scholars believe the writers may have been describing dinosaurs. The behemoth is said to be the mightiest of all God’s creatures, a giant whose tail is likened to a cedar tree (Job 40:15). Some scholars have tried to identify the behemoth as either an elephant or a hippopotamus. Others point out that elephants and hippopotamuses have very thin tails, nothing comparable to a cedar tree. Dinosaurs like the brachiosaurus and the diplodocus, on the other hand, had huge tails which could easily be compared to a cedar tree.

Nearly every ancient civilization has some sort of art depicting giant reptilian creatures. Petroglyphs, artifacts, and even little clay figurines found in North America resemble modern depictions of dinosaurs. Rock carvings in South America depict men riding diplodocus-like creatures and, amazingly, bear the familiar images of triceratops-like, pterodactyl-like, and tyrannosaurus rex-like creatures. Roman mosaics, Mayan pottery, and Babylonian city walls all testify to man’s trans-cultural, geographically unbounded fascination with these creatures. Sober accounts like those of Marco Polo’s Il Milione mingle with fantastic tales of treasure-hoarding beasts. In addition to the substantial amount of anthropic and historical evidences for the coexistence of dinosaurs and man, there are physical evidences, like the fossilized footprints of humans and dinosaurs found together at places in North America and West-Central Asia.

So, are there dinosaurs in the Bible? The matter is far from settled. It depends on how you interpret the available evidences and how you view the world around you. If the Bible is interpreted literally, a young earth interpretation will result, and the idea that dinosaurs and man coexisted can be accepted. If dinosaurs and human beings coexisted, what happened to the dinosaurs? While the Bible does not discuss the issue, dinosaurs likely died out sometime after the flood due to a combination of dramatic environmental shifts and the fact that they were relentlessly hunted to extinction by man.

What Happened To The Dinosaurs?
Author: John Whitmore
Although the monstrous creature was obviously a vegetarian, its size was overwhelming. Its hips could withstand the enormous force of each pounding step and its midsection was a mass of muscle. Its gigantic tail extended far behind him, not unlike a giant cedar tree swaying behind his body. Its bones were like steel girders with ribs like iron bars to support his enormous weight. This is the greatest creature to roam the swamps and rivers of the earth.
This article is one of many found within Mr. Malone's excellent book, Search for the Truth.
Is this a scene from the blockbuster movie, Jurassic Park? It could be, but it isn't. This description, which perfectly fits an Apatosaurus, is a paraphrased description taken from one of the oldest books of the Bible, Job 40:15-24. If dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 million years, how could a writer of the Bible have accurately described the appearance, food, and habitat of this creature?
The vast majority of books on dinosaurs are written from an evolutionary perspective which assumes that the dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. The leading model for the demise of the dinosaur involves a large asteroid hitting the earth. Yet the most obvious alternative explanation is almost always ignored. Almost all fossils are the remains of creatures buried by water-borne sediment which has subsequently turned to rock. If this is due to the flood of worldwide extent, as the water flowed over all the land surfaces, animals would have been drowned and been buried by massive amounts of rapidly accumulating sediment. It is not all surprising to find a general lack of burial mixing between these very different kinds of animals due to local or ecological grouping.
Genesis 7:2 states that Noah saved two of every representative "kind" of land animal on the ark. Noah would have taken young specimens, not huge, older creatures. Dinosaurs would have emerged from the ark to inhabit an entirely different world. Instead of a warm, mild climate worldwide, they would have found a harsh climate which soon settled into an ice age. If climatic hardships did not cause the dinosaur's extinction, man's tendency to destroy probably did.
In the early 1900's on the Doheny expedition into the Grand Canyon, Indian cave drawings were found which closely resembled a duck-billed dinosaur. Legends from ancient China to ancient England have recorded descriptions of dinosaur-like creatures. The Kuku Yalanji aboriginal people have paintings which look exactly like plesiosaurs. These and other intriguing evidences seem to indicate that perhaps that age of the dinosaurs ended more recently than is commonly taught. Christians do not need to feel foolish about standing on Scripture in their understanding of the world around us. There is ample evidence to support the Biblical record. Evolution serves as the foundation basis for the religions of humanism and atheism. These world views are popular because man, instead of God, decides on rules and moral standards. Creation serves as the foundational basis for Christianity which acknowledges that all things were created by God, that we live in a fallen universe, and that it will be restored to perfection in the future.

Because dinosaurs died out out MILLIONS of years ago, and the earth is much older than 6000 years. There is no mention of dinosarus because they didn't exist when the biblical just-so children's stories were written. There is also no mention of all the other weird and wonderful creatures that preceded the dinosaurs and died in mass extinction events. What, does God create things, only to wipe them out every 30 to 50 million years or so? How many floods, arks, and Noahs were there, one for each extinction?

And would all you Kent Hovind butt-kissers please grow a brain?? Behemoth and leviathan DO NOT refer to dinosaurs! Dinosaurs were EXTINCT by the time of Noah! The KJV also mentions cockatrices, basilisks, and unicorns. Are you going to say those creatures existed, too? I mean there they are, in Gawd's "inerrant" word, so it must be true! Golly, I just can't wait to see fossilized unicorns someday. That will prove the Wholly Babble true!

Kind makes you wonder how true it all really is right? In the Old Testament they talk of Giants! Why wouldn't they speak of the dinosaurs? Personally...I don't believe much of it but that it is just a book of stories given to people to have something to believe in so that everyone will stop the madness!! Alot of the Bible contradicts itself! But there is always someone who comes up with some kind of answer to make people believe it!

As "juileeee" perviously said, the names you now know dinosaurs as did not come around until the later 1800s, when fossils were first discovered. Read Job chapter 41, it talks about the leviathan and behemoth. Pretty cool. Also check out this site, it should answer quite a few questions.

I am a American Chinese
It did not mention about Chinese/China also.
"TRUE" history not means "WHOLE" history.
I do not think Bible is a "WHOLE" dictionary of history.
It may not mention about some issue "SEEM important to US"
But it really want to show us is the relation with God and his redeem plan via his son.
Dinosaur appear or not is not a matter for this redeem issue.

In the book of Job, it speaks of the Levithan. Anyway. Where are the orangutans, kangaroos, elephants, monkeys, moose, etc., etc. Just because they aren't mentioned in the bible doesn't mean they didn't exist. Think a little deeper, friend, and you will answer many more questions. God Bless.
