It is highly unlikely the blast was in any way related to Al Queda, and LTTE is not even close. It was a single, self-propelled explosive round fired symbolically at the embassy that caused very little damage and no casualties, at a time that very few people would have been in the building.

For the 1st poster Athens is in Greece, not Italy.

And it is a bit to soon to say who launch the rocket. I doubt Osama is behind it. He would have targetted an Embassy where the US have more interest.

I guess it is more a local terrorist group.

C'mon man, osama has nothing to do with Greece. A local leftist group has taken on responsibility for the explosion but it has not been verified yet.

It may have had something to do with the tensions between Greek and Turkish governments over Cyprus. Al-qaeda, unlikely. Bin-Laden? Definitely not. LTTE, prob not. (wrong region)
