A sweet penguin just asked this same question, and (again) answers truly shock me.

Three randomly picked answers:

"do you have a roof over your head? are you being fed daily? are you blessed with family and friends that care about you?"

"R u dead? at war? during famine? If u think he does not show it, look around u and count ur blessings. And u, if u love him, do u show him?"

"There is not enough disc space on my computer to list all the ways God has shown His love for me, my family, my church, our country, etc."

Today, and only today 40,000 children under the age of twelve, died from starvation or Aids on our planet. If the above three answers are truly how some Christians think of this world, then I would really wanna know how God loves ALL of us.

What will be the answer this time? "Devil did it" ? or "God works in mysterious ways"? Or the ever so famous "And what do you do?" ?

God loves us, but this is not a perfect world and the world inflicts pain and suffering on people, many of whom ARE innocent.

But may I make a few other observations--Jesus teaches us to be charitable and generous and to forgive each other and to love each other. If we truly follow Jesus and through him God then we can take action to relieve that suffering. What have you done to help in this area, other than to make your observations?

Second, if this world is a place of pain and suffering, is it cruelty on God's part to take those who suffer to a better place?

I don't know. I support my church, which I know does charitable work--not enough to help everyone, but it's a start. If this were a perfect world, what would be the point of heaven?

God loves all of us. But he won't just sit there and save the world just like that poof. He works through the people, and it is how it is. People die because of people - it's not a question of whether God shows love or not.

Yeah, and why does that evil ubercapitalist known as SANTA CLAUS only give presents to the rich kids???? It's the same question.
And the answer is - there is no god and there is no Santa Claus.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Yeah, you're bound to get some lame repeatative round about excuses like: "God has a plan" or "God needed them in heaven." Either way they are just lame excuses, not answers, excuses!
