The civil approach hi, and what is going on with you now. Say anything kind, but no matter what this conversation does not exceed 15 min. Avoid getting to personal, but keep an open mind they may have moved on. This is for first converstion only the next time if you meet again tack on an extra 5-10 min, but keeping in mind to keep everything short and sweet. Who knows if this continues down a nice track it is quite possible to develop a friendship, but remember it all about boundries right now. Just keep everything at the fore front, and always have your exits mapped out.

a lot has to do with your past relationship with them. Just keep in mind that it is an x but still a person. At one time u had feelings for them, and they for u. So as long as there was no abuse, then just nod or say hi, just go with the moment. Just because they are an x dosn't meen that u have to have hate toward them. I have an x that is a very good friend. We don't have a relationship anymore but we still keep in touch.

I guess I would say "hi" I still care about my ex, even though she hates me. I can't erase the past, but I can be nice to her no matter what now. I would love to see my ex, and form a friendship with her, so I would try to be cordial as possible, even though my feelings were badly hurt.

Well, i would say hi, how are you and be so extra sweet that it would probably piss him off so much that he would want to strangle me. And if he somehow tried to call me agian to get back together i would tell him, dude it was your loss mot mine. (revenge is sweet, especially if he cheated on you about 20 times). Have a great day.

DEPENDS HOW THINGS ENDED! But just be polite, look happy and if your gonna make conversation, make it short, and go on your way. Your EX is an EX for a reason!!

Did it end that badly? Either hide in another aisle if it was your fault or simply say hello [name] and walk away if it was his.
Did it end somewhat agreeably? Strike up a conversation maybe you could end up being good friends.
