My daughter will be 3 yrs old in May and I think she is ready to potty train. However, when I have tried in the past she has wet herself and then told me. She also doesn't like the potty. Please give me some strategies to easy potty training.

My son was the same way and we tried it just naked. It took him about a week and a half but he got it, and then we moved up to underwear, and now he is fully potty trained. Take her to the potty and tell her to go potty, rewarding is ok in the beginning, but you shouldn't over do it.

My daughter will be three in May too! :-)) We just did the potty-training thing. I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago. She would wet herself, and then tell me about it. We did stickers on the calendar every time she did a wee in the toilet. She loved to pick out those. Now, she wears pull-ups for naps and nights and "big-girl" panties the rest of the time. We still have oopsies, but it does get better. Just don't stress, she is just learning & it may take a bit of time for her to get all the details sorted! :-))

silky panties, with Cinderella, Little Mermaid etc on them,..they feel terrible when wet. explain only big girls that use the potty get to wear them..Take her to the potty every hour, some kids like the big one better..when she wets, and she will, very calmly without a word take them off and put on plain silky panties..when she wants more fancy pants let her know again that big girls get them..try them again after her nap, keep this routine going for a few days and she should respond..every little girl is a sucker for fancy pants..No long pants, absorb too much fluid and too hard for her to manage until she catches on..also a sticker or m&m bribe never hurt anyone..get rid of all diapers and pull ups..keep calm and your mop handy, this to will pass. As far as wetting then telling, she is beginning to understand what happens when she gets that feeling. Good luck.

Put a step next to your toilet & a small toilet seat (for toilet training) over your own & tell your daughter that she can go to the toilet where big people go when she feels big enough. Show her what you mean then leave it! Every now & then mention this "have you grown big enough yet to use the big peoples toilet?'. No more pressure than that & she should eventually respond to this. Has worked every time with me. Act like you don't care if she does or does not.

Never mind my name. I have had it since i was 16. I'm 29 now and a single dad for 5 years. What I did for my son was. I fed him one night and timed how long it would take for him touse the restroom. It was 30 mins. The next night after he ate I took him to the toilet and sat there with him till he went. It works you just need Patience.

take away all her diapers and pullups and then she might cry for it and just tell her she is a big girl and she has no need to wear them anymore. you may have to do laundry for a little while but it is so worth it. i have a daughter that is two and a half years old and she's been potter trained for like a year.
