they curse, sleep around, start fights with people, dress seductively or provocatively, abuse alcohol, disrespect people, lie and deceive others, and then show up to church on Sunday...dressed conservatively, singing hymns, clutching their Bibles, and greeting everyone there with hugs and warm wishes? I'm just curious.

By the way I'm not 'judging' anyone, I am simply asking since I see this happening so often.

That's not walking daily with Christ to me.
Stick with what Jesus taught and lived.

The heart is the most important factor in salvation. They must love God enough to trust and obey Him. Then, this love will grow and wil cause them to live in love and do what is right. This should reform not only their heart, soul, and mind. This should change their very being to a point that the people around them notice the difference.
There are two possibilities here:
1) They are not saved and are thus "Christians" in name only.
2) They are Christians but are Christians who have gone horribly lost.
I don't know. God is the Judge. Only He knows them personally. We only see what they are doing. We don't see if their conscience is tormenting them and begging them to stop or if they feel no remorse at all.
However, with my limited and human understanding do kind of question their salvation. If one truly is saved their desire to sin would be less. They shouldn't be doing these things. They're ambassadors of God. All they do reflect on how God has changed their lives for the good. If they act like that, they give Him a bad image. That is not good.

In my opinion you just described your average Christian......I can kill, lie, and fornicate six days a week because Jesus paid for my sins!
The current Christian motto: WWJD?
Well? What would Jesus do? The bible shows that Jesus: observed and taught Torah, kept the feasts, rested on Sabbath(Saturday),etc....
How many Christians who sport this bumper sticker have really though about this question?
Bottom line: you can not earn salvation thourgh sanctification but if you love someone with all your heart (as the bible states over and over how you should love God with all your heart) than you are going to want to get to know them and do what they want. It is through the blood of the Messiah that we are cleansed from our sins.......this doesn't mean that we can do whatever we want against what the bible says....
In my opinion(I have to make it clear that it is only an opinion so I don't get to many angry emails)
Christianity= ask not what I can do for God, ask what God can do for me........(this was the only true message I learned after 10 years of being a Christian)

No one is prefect and that is why Jesus died for us as you know even if you have the Lord in your heart, satin is right behind you trying to tempt you.you will be forgivin if you ask, people have their demons that they have to deal with everyday and if you noticed a problem with someone you better beleive they are dealing with it 10 times worse. So pray for those people who are having promblems in their lifes and remember everyone has a chance to change. Don't be a judge of others cause God has that under control, life is full of testes and will be a battle until the day we die......

Not a christian but a typical club going hypocrite,
A professing christian is one ONLY!!!! if they live a life that is christ-like.
* that would be a selfless person that would unconditionally love everyone,
* would not condemn ANYONE,
* would unconditionally forgive ALL without first seeking retribution or revenge and call it 'justice'
* would not seek worldly possessions and material rewards.
* would live a pious life
well you get the idea, in life i have yet to met more than one.....

There is not really a checklist of things which make one a christian or not. Very often you hear that so-and-so did that so they cannot be a "real" christian. Until they publish a list of requirements we will never know.

No they are not Christian. These people are called hypocrites.
To be a Christian you must live a Christian life as defined by the Bible.
- Cursing is generally frowned upon.
- Sleeping around is strictly forbidden and the Bible suggests the death penalty for such activity.
- Fighting is not at all Christian.
- Provocative clothing is frowned upon.
- Alcohol abuse is fine. Noah was a drunk who made wine and God thought he was the finest of all men.
- Lying and deceiving others is also frowned upon.
So clearly the person you are describing is not following the Christian lifestyle as they should. But I think you knew that already!

People who believe that Christ is the savior are Christians regardless of their lifestyle, However they will have to answer for their sins, and the way I see it, the atheist and other non-believers will have a lot of Christians in hell to keep them company.

No they are not Christians. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my comands. And he said Not everybody who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of God, only those who do the will of my Father who is in Heaven. Just because somebody goes to church on Sundays, does not mean that they are saved.
