We all go through times of doubt and questioning in our lives. Dont believe anyone who says they havent gone through it too, because if they havent yet, they will. It is good to go through those times cause you find out what you really believe and your faith becomes stronger.
What a good friend told me is to focus on what you do believe about God and hold on to that. What do you really believe deep in your heart? Write that down and pray over it daily. And ask God to clear up any funky thinking. We all got it.
God bless and good luck in your journey. We are all in this thing together.
xoxo

Perhaps the trouble is uncertainty in your beliefs?
My family was also not really interested in religion. I sought out answers to my questions without their help. We had gone to a church, but it wasn't in line with Bible teachings, & that 'turned me off'. I think you may find some answers to your trouble in the following online articles ...

Not knowing what it is or why it is, that causes you to loose faith makes it a little hard to answer. Prayers not being answered as you wish they would? No one share your faith with? Don't understand something written in the Bible? Confused about creation? Salvation? Gays? Stem cell? Abortion? My advice would be to join a church. Get involved in a Bible study group would definitely be a big plus. Like the old saying goes "Birds of a feather flock together" Get around some Christians that may be around your same age, same background, same interests, same problem. doing this can only stand to help. I congratulate you for what you did as a child. What you did then was great. The God you learned of then is the same God today. God will never leave or abandon you. He knows we will struggle and have problems. Jesus Himself wasn't immune to problems...they crucified Him didn't they...God will help us in our time of need. We need to look for and ask Him for it. Best wishes and God Bless You..

Sometimes we need refreshing. I find that whenever I sing some old church hymns or songs to the Lord, He lifts me up. Also just having an honest to goodness talk with Him about how you are feeling and why you are feeling that way. God understands your heart and knows your needs, and sometimes He wants us to express them to Him. Maybe the reason you feel this way is because you haven't been spending much time with Him, like you used to. Sometimes when we feel like this , God is just waiting for you to seek Him. He always Has the time.
Don't let the discouragement become greater than God.
And we all feel that way at times. This is a hard world to live in.

It's good that you feel it troubling you. That one thing means you haven't lost all of your belief in God.
I believe that's what being in a church is for. No one can stand alone, and from time to time, we need others to stand by us and pull us up. Find someone you can trust and who is well grounded in the Word.
Also, ask God to strengthen your faith. I bet you've already done that like, hundreds of times. Keep on! He hears you, I can tell you this. He loves you, and even if you let go, he will never leave you.
Keep your head up.

Time to check the reason you loosing your believe, and of course the reason you don't want to lose it. Put the trust in your heart, and be consistent with whatever the result is.
oh, and keep doing it when you feel unsure ...
sounds easy but its really hard.
btw, I am a moslem so personally I would suggest that you find out about Islam and compare it with your current religion. But the advice I mentioned above (keep questioning) is the one Abraham did when he tried to find God.

The best way... read your Bible or get literature on the Bible. The Tyndale 365 day Bible is what I recommend. Pray and give thanks about everything, but Let the word of God speak to your heart. Do your best not to sin. Living here on Earth, we all sin, but realize it when you do and do your best to keep it to a minimal or refrain from it.
Stop in a Christian Book store and see what they have to offer.
God does not want to lose you that is why I am writing to you (me too). It is possible to experience BackSlidden (Straying away from God, but always keep your belief in Him, as this will bring you back at the appropriate time in your life.
Also tithe, this means give your 10%, money, or what ever you can afford to your church or Christian agencies that help people.
God delights in those who support His Missionaries, so send money when you can to missionaries, or organizations that support the "Great Commandment" (Missionaries)
Selah!

Maybe there is something you are not doing? I am assuming you are loosing your belief in God because of unanswered prayers? Or maybe bad things are happening in your life? I think you should take the time and ask yourself questions before asking anything of God. Like... What is my prayer life like? How am I being an example of God? Am I obedient and disciplined in His word? Am I allowing God to control my life? Am I keeping God first? Am I allowing Him to use me? And most importantly am I spending time with God? A good father loves spending time with his children, so that he can learn about them and also teach them.

Kudos to you for making up your own mind and not simply following what others do. But, one must realise that if you made a mistake that you have to admit it at some point. I hope that you will eventually come to the right conclusion and not force yourself to believe things which you know deep inside are not true.
