Your opinion of this quote? "I see the glass as half-empty.."?

Question

I thought of this quote to put on the T-shirt of the Dept of Chemical Engg., A.C.Tech.

The reference is to the quote " Some see the glass as half-full, some see it as half-empty ".

"Over-designed" is a chemical engineering term that means you design equipment that can take more load than you're going to put now, so that the capacity can be expanded later on.
A glass half-full is over-designed - to a chemical engineer.

Well, it's a bit obtuse for the layman, but your fellow chem engineers might get a kick out of it if it said something like,"Some see the glass as half-full, chemical engineers see it as over-designed" and accompanied by an appropriate illustration.

well "i see the glass as half empty" it technically means that you are looking at the negative side of things. you are not looking at the positive sides of that thing. its like being a pessimist. but an optimist , a person who thinks and works following a positive attitude, would "see the glass as half full"- the positive facts

Yes, and a half-full glass can still take more 'load' as well. Maybe it's over-designed to the user who is under-utilizing it.

I know this 1. It show if u are a postive or a negative person. If u see a glass which is half fill and say it's half full then you are a postive person but if u say it's half EMPTY then u are negative person.
