I wish I could answer this, I can only say, that I have cared for my teeth well over the years, better than my husband, and have had 3 root canals and much other "work" done in my mouth while he has had a cavity or two only. My dentist says it could be genetics. But if your sister and brother have good teeth, then I don't know what to tell you. I know it really makes me curious, and I'd love to see an answer to this.

i woeked in a dentist office for 10 months and a learned some things that can be really useful. now about ur question it could be for many reasons genetics, what u eat for example people that drank a lot of milf when they were babies are more likely to have good teeth, also what u eat now if u eat too much candy no matter how much u brush ur teeth ur likely to have cavities. and also there's people who have good teeth and people who dont no matter how clean u keep them. is like when u see a skinny people that eats a lot and a fat one that doesnt eat as much well u ask ur self why well just cuz the skinny person is geneticaly made that way and it doesnt matter how much she/he eats. is the same with teeth no matter how much u take care of them if they are not strong they will give u problems. ofcourse u still need to take care of them if not imagine....

Do you floss on a regular basis??
Do you have your teeth cleaned every 6 months??
Do you grind your teeth at night??
So many things can contribute to toothaches.
Ask the doctor that keeps prescribing root canal therapy. He should show you (with an x-ray) what is going on and give you ways to prevent it.
Best of luck to you!

What do you like to eat? My wife is obsessed with sour food - she eats (and has always eaten) a LOT of lemon / lime with every meal. Now she says all the enamel is worn off her teeth, and needs root canals and other pricey treatments.
Sorry to hear of your troubles. I hate going to the dentist!

Can just be genes. Sorry, not much you can do about that.
The other possibility is to ask your mom if she took extra vitamins while pregnant with your siblings than with you. My sister took fluoride when pregnant with her first - and he doesn't have as many cavities as his brother & sister. Some doctors don't like it though - so it's a trade off.

It may be heredity, even if your siblings don't have a problem, one of your parents might. My husband grew up with poor health and poor hygeine but has awesome white pearly teeth. I brush my teeth untill the enamel wears off and they still aren't gleaming. Go figure.

you could have weak enamel you should talk to your dentist about having your teeth sealed it puts a stronger barrier on your teeth and will help protect them longer.

It's just genetics. You got it from someone in the family where as the others didn't.
