First off he's six years yonger than me. I am 17. I've been friends with him for 4 years now. I've always thought of him as a brother but lately he hs been flirting with me and things don't feel like they did before. He's really mature for his age.When I first met him I thought he was older. We get along real well and like alot of the same things. He also likes to be near me and sit right next to me so our arms can touch. Or when I go visit my best friend (She's his step sister) and we all go swimming, he likes to pick me up alot in the water. Now I know It seems weird, but is it ok to like him? I don't know if it's a crush or If I really like him. And then to make matters worse, I heard from one of his friends that he likes someone else but he hardly knows her. But than again he's been known to lie alot. I'd think he'd just say he likes her and not say he likes me because of the age gap. So with all of this in mind, I can't tell if he likes me or not. What's everyone else think?

I don't think it would work at this point.. you're too old for him.. not because of the age gap/number.. but because of maturity.. no matter how mature you think he is for his age, he has just entered puberty. Or is still going through it. I think you should just go for someone closer to your age. I could've dated someone 4 years younger than me but I'm not because I'm about to enter college and he's just entering high school. So much can happen to a person in those crucial, definitive years of life. I don't think it's a good idea.. honestly. But good luck w/ everything

as soon as you turn 18 you can be charged with statutory rape of a minor if anything happens between the two of you.
of course a 17 year old girl is going to look good to an 11 year old boy. and you don't want to burn any bridges with this boy lest when he turns legal and becomes a hottie with an excellent job. and you don't want to scar him for life. its alright if you have play dates with him and his step sister. and even to help mold him into a respectful guy that some woman is going to be lucky to get someday.
you can even tell him that when he becomes legal you would be honored to go on a date with him. but don't start anything yet. although it is not common for girls to be prosecuted for this offense it is not unheard of.
