It depends how bad I feel.

You are most contagious before you get sick....so by then most people are infected anyhow.

Unfortunately so many employers penalize people when they call in sick, they feel they have to come in.

I worked at a place where if you called in sick on a Friday or a weekend, 3 times in a row, you were terminated. Many people only worked on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I worked with a person who called in sick 3 times in 2 years and was terminated because all sick days were on a weekend, which were the only days he was scheduled to work. After that everyone came in sick.

that's a difficult question, This year there have been quite a few viruses and cold going around everywear. At the same time it's not good missing work time, because most of the time strong cold symptoms can last for a week, and lost wages is not good...... But if you go back to work you will just end infecting others.... and it's kinda non avoidable....... I got sick from my co-worker this winter.......it also really depends on your career and job...... sorry if my answer didn't help much

It depends on how sick you are and what kind of work you do.

Some employers understand, some don't.

For me, I stayed home during the bad days. The good days toward the end, I went back to work. My colds used to last about a month, so I couldn't stay out of work for long.

I think at its worse you should stay home, but after that, you aren't contagious.
