Please, I am begging you, don't ever rinse your pasta. You are washing away the starch that will help the sauce stick to the noodles.

You're not supposed to rinse any pasta, according to Pasta Harvest by Janet Fletcher.
She says "Never rinse cooked pasta. Rinsing would cool it off and remove the surface starch that helps the sauce to adhere."
The draining process is very important - that's way you want pasta "al dente"...you cook it just until it's firm under your tooth, but not hard. Therefore it must be drained when it offers just a slight core of resistance as it will cook in the moments you carry it from the stove to the sink, as well as while it drains.
The "sticky" coating on pasta that some folks might think is bad is actual the essence of what helps the sauce - any sauce - stick to the pasta. This is even more important for dried pasta that is (good but) not high quality. This pasta is made by forcing through teflon coated dies that give it a slick surface...which is harder for sauces to coat.
The best manufacturers, Fletcher says, cut their pasta by forcing it through bronze dies, which give the noodle a rough texture. she recommends a brand lke De Cecco if you buy dried...but of course encourages homemade :-)

They just don't think it is necessary because of the sauce that you are putting on. Plus, if you are eating mac & cheese from a box, you will prob. not know the difference anyway. I personally do not rinse cooked pasta because the sauce does not stick to it as well.

the reason they say dont rinse the mac and cheese noodles is because if you rinse them the heat necessary to melt the cheese goes away.

definite. often on my own of their homes gazing television because for some reason smart captivating females have a demanding time looking dates. The Mac and Cheese is amazingly comforting on a dateless Friday evening at the same time as your skanky acquaintances are out getting laid. It takes a lengthy time period to stumble on a good guy to change a bowl of tacky yumminess.
