"15,000 pieces of manuscript evidence"?? The actual number is far fewer, and did you know that many of them are so tiny that they contain only a few blurry words, or even a few letters? (They're called miniscules, a very good word, indeed.) The New Testament has been redacted and interpolated so many times that it is impossible to know what the original writings may have contained. In fact, there are NO "original manuscripts" for ANY of the biblical books, so the next time you hear someone use that phrase, ask for the evidence. It does not exist.

Mara_Bear has the right idea, though. Anybody can write down anything and then claim that God said it; just because they said so, does not make it true. Christians reveal their childishness in their willingness to believe just any old thing that is written in the Bible just because it is written there, and not because there is any proof for its veracity. You literally could write a bunch of fairy tales, fables, and myths, and as long as it sounded good and contained reassurances of being "God's word," somebody would surely believe in it. You don't even need to bury it, though--the Book of Mormon became an overnight sensation and there's a whole new cult based on it, well within the lifetime of its creator.

The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and nonbelieving scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive study, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."

There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

No way Jose no prank could be that well written by any man without God!
Do you, can you realy believe that you could write a book better than God could? Do you think you could put together a book to mach the Bible in prophesies that all come about exactly as it said in your prank book your statement sounds so simple, but friend I think you 're truly delusional, if the bible was as you say a prank by some men as you claim it would have bneen very different from how it is, living by it would be a waste of time and it would not change lives, as it does, it would contain no helpful information, it would do exactly what you claim, there would be no truth in itbut stories that are not even your own ideas, it would only probably praise your achievement as you already denote that it would form your own religion is that truly inspirational for people or is it decieving them?you may even accomplish your purpose that may be what you want to do is to cast doubt on the real truth from God, But you will find out the truth some day maybe even very soon, hopefully for you it mybe not too late, you can say I'm stupid because I believe the Bible that's fine by me, my concern is not what people will think of me my concern is more what God will think of meand to be accepted by God rather than men, I hope only good things to come your way so give yourself a chance for good read the Bible search it out for yourself and trully benefit from its advice to all mankind, ooops sorry I wasn't planing to write a book, that was your idea!

A prank??? The Bible was written by about 40 men in about 1600 years dating from 1500 B.C. to about 100 A.D. Often they had no idea that others were writting what would come to be known as the Bible.

These men wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). They wrote not in words of human wisdom but in words taught by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 2:13).

That is why you can take

What makes you think the Bible is the word of God?
Prophecy. The Old Testament was written before Jesus was ever born. The New Testament was written by the men who knew Jesus, who walked with Him, ate with Him, and learned from Him. In the O.T. there are prophecies concerning His birthplace (Micah 5:1-2), that He would be born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), that He would be rejected by His own people (Isaiah 53:3), that He would be betrayed by a close friend (Isaiah 41:9), that He would die by having His hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16-18), and that He would rise from the dead (Psalm 16:10, 49:15). In the N.T. all these prophecies, and many more, are fulfilled by Jesus. Now, this is the question you must answer: "If the Bible is not inspired from God, then why does it have so many fulfilled prophecies?" How is that possible if the Bible were not from God? Only God knows the future, has power over it, and can look into it to tell us exactly what will happen. In the Bible we have the fingerprints of God: fulfilled prophecy!

The ancient manuscripts were re-written about the year 400 by Catholic Monks, it became the King James Version of the Bible. They were very smart as they re-writing the rule book and added a few things for themselves. For instance when the ancient manuscripts were written there were no churches but all of a sudden the new Bible says, "And God said that you must financially support churches". They knew what they were doing.

If you are hearing voices in your head urging you to do that, maybe it is The Holly Spirit which is whispering you to do it, so why don't you just even try?

And to child of abba: At my almost 40 years I still cannot write a book the size the one you think a 14 year old uneducated boy (grown in a farm) wrote by himself. Have you ever read it, by the way? Never dare to talk about something you don't know. Tallking about pranksters!

Prophets wrote the Bible all over the world during the same time period. It is in different languages, but all pretty much give the same basics, using different names. There are 5 different names for these books. No it wasn't a prank. God basically wrote the Bible through people with the help of His angels.

There are 44 different authors and they were all written at different times and found at different times. It wasn't like one day someone was walking thru the desert and suddenly there was the Bible buried in the sand.

What your talking about is what Joseph Smith did.

I could tell you that the Bible is real
but this is a decision that you have to make in order to believe what you choose
Some on here will state that this is a book of Lovely Fairy Tales written to amuse us poor souls.
Others will state that this book is real and genuine.
