I PRAY THE FOLLOWING WILL LIFT YOUR QUESTIONS.
I have before felt just like you are relaying.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding," the Bible says.
It is ok to feel this way but don't allow it to take over in your way of thinking. The Lord states that for every man there is a purpose. What takes place in your life today will be different than what takes place tomorrow. Every day is a new beginning. When there are hills to climb you can look forward to reaching the top as, there will be an easy roll down the other side. Life has cycles and if you place them in perspective, can be a wonderful part of your existance. There will always be good and not so good times... enjoy every moment because all are meaningful.
God has a purpose for our lives even tho we may not yet understand them and the purpose will unfold before you in time.
His main purpose for each and everyone of us is to know Him through His Son.
.
Sometimes bad and difficult things happen to people- at least in our human perception... Some people have physical challenges that they sometimes are not able to overcome... our physical challenges are sometimes to help others- even if they (others)have no physical challenge themselves. Sometimes it takes someones brokeness to warm the cold heart of a person who has no serious physical defect/ailment. This can result in a humbling experience for one who really needs it. The Lord desires each of us to seek Him. There is a time for every man to seek God and He has placed this within our soul.
He, God in the bible also states to "Praise God in all things", for the reason that there is a purpose for all things under the sun- even purposes or reasons we do not yet understand. He desires every person to seek after Him and know Him. "Seek and you WILL find" the Bible says- not might find. Knowing Jesus Christ is the most life rewarding experience of all and the most important decision each and every one of us will face. "Seek thee first the things of God and all others will be added unto you." Jesus is the only true comfortor in life, in fact He states, "I will leave you peace." This is a true staement. I know myself.
Please see my best answer to question ? Does God exist ?.
God desires so much that we, every person, knows Him and has relationship with Him. I am so thankful to have found His love. It surpasses anything I have ever known in my life. I encourage you to read the New Testment Gospel of John and pray that God shows you what is important for you to see. and remember the words in red are Christ talking directly to you... not only history.
Our purpose in life is to have the opportunity 'to meet God through Christ, the last and final sacrifice.'... 'This is our purpose for our time on this earth.' He even told His disciples, "Come, I will make you fishers of men." Why? Not for our personal benefit but that God wishes not one to perish but for all to know Him, be forgiven of their sin, and have eternal life with Him.
"Do not fear", Christ states... "I am He whom you are seeking". May God Bless You and keep you.

We were created for the same reason that we have our own children. Simply for the joy of watching them grow and learn.
Life as we know it physically, is a test. Let me explain.
If knowledge is power, how much power do you think you would aquire if you lived forever?
You ability to chose right from wrong shows how responsible you would be with that power. Those who cannot control that power or those that have shown that they will abuse it simply dont get it.
You die. Those who can, I believe, have something in store for them AFTER this "physical" death.
As far as modern medicine is concerned. I personally think that many people suffer needlessly by prolonging their lives while in conditions that you previously stated.
My only answer to that is. . . As a whole, mankinds technology has outgrown its maturity. "Knowledge without understanding." I think modern medicine continues many of its practices simply just because . .it can. We are all so amazed by the great feats that we can or have accomplished and have yet to stop and examine the end result or effects. Which brings us full circle to what I was saying earlier; Knowledge is power. This is a simple misuse of power.
I could go on and on with this. Send me an e-mail. Don't worry, I'm not trying to convert you. LOL

Humans want to live because as the bible says, “He has even put eternity into their minds.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) It was never God's original intentions for humans to live in such a world, get sick and die. But, because of Adam and Eve's sinning, we suffer the results. But, take courage and know that God's original purpose for the earth has not changed. Psalms 37:11 says, "The meek ones will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." And humans will no longer get sick, and die as stated at Revelation 21:3,4, "...and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Just know, that the things that are happening in this world are temporary, and soon, God will usher in a new world.

I'm not going to claim I know the answer to that question, and if anyone claims that they do, just keeping asking why until you find the holes in their truths.
I used to think about this question a lot; as a gay Catholic I had a real crisis as to what the after life would hold for me. What I discovered was it is better not to ask those questions and I would be a far more blissful place had I just left the forbidden fruit on God's tree.
We are all taught to believe their is always a right answer. Their is always a better way to do things or the reason something isn't working right is because we don't have the right answers yet.
When it comes to life there is no right way to live life or a right way to maintain peace on Earth. We can only manage the several interacting parts of life to maintain a balance everyone can live with.
We do we urge to live? Evolutionary skill prehaps? Who knows but its built inside each and everyone of us, its just something we know we enjoy and strive for. It's a lot like asking why do we wear clothes? Just something we do. Another thing we do that I find far more interesting is "Why do we think we have a purpose?" it stange how we have this natural urge to not only preserves ourselves but to find meaning in our own lives.
The anwser to your question is another question "Why should you have a purpose?"

"I don't understand why people call 9-1-1 to live when if you read god's word then if your dieing of natural causes then why would you want to not go be with the lord who created you and loves you"
God doesnt want us to give up. He wants us to keep trying to uphold the sanctity of life until the last bit of it.
God knows best
Peace and Love

I think that our purpose is to die. That sounds morose, but it's true. We are to die to ourselves. We put ourselves on hold as much as possible, trust in God through Jesus Christ. Once atr that point, we learn to turn our will over to him, and ironically we begin to behave in a way that he inspires us.
So don't be too surprised if some of us are willing, even welcoming death. That's because our trust in God has matured and we are no longer like the people we once were; trying to look younger than we are, holding onto the things of this Earth a little too much, needing the approval of others in an unhealthy way, fearing death, doubting our eventual end.
In a phrase, we grow up spiritually.

Been there done that, pursue a passion, it doesn't matter what it is, if you must, make it all material, make your own morals up, and walk your own path of life.
Religions are always around, they serve the need for humans to reason with their actions, believe they exist for a reason, and remove some of the fear of living just to die soon after.
I think it overall helps anyone, much like it did for me. Believe in one true statement:
"I am my own God"
Whether you believe in "God", "Christ", Buddha, or whatever from any religion to be the almighty one of knowledge and gave you a purpose, it doesn't matter when in reality you can't prove **** about it.
Be true to yourself, and what you want. Just try to make it fit with your society, anything that is outlaw material or abnormal to society is doomed to be considered "Evil". That's how it works Bud. Good luck
edit: Look at this religious clowns, trying to suck you in, and make you believe what they say is the "truth". Quit pushing your taught beliefs to other people. You were brought up with it, you had no choice and your still too blind to make your own ideas. Its best for someone who has lost ties with strict religious beliefs to find their own life and be happy, than feel FEAR everyday that God is going to punish you for every little thing you THINK is bad. You don't even know.
Its bleeding with obviousness that hard *** catholics believe they are superior. I know, I am "Catholic" by the religious standards anyway, like baptized and confirmation, but I reject the ignorance of the fools who occupy the bulk of them.

Human beings are created to know God. He instilled in us a thirst that will not be satisfied until we reach out to Him for companionship and love. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:8 (NAS), "More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ."
We were created to have an intimate, loving relationship with the Lord? and to bring Him glory. Paying respect with our gifts and good works is a natural extension of that design. But our primary responsibility is to spend time with Him.

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

Whatever you're going through... The human's purpose is to please God. No matter how much we know is waiting for us in heaven... if God didn't mean for us to die then we don't die.
He knows everything: what's going through our heads, the number of hairs on our heads, the number of tears we cry in our little dark corners, the age we'll live to.
When we go, we go. If we don't we try to live a life that will please God. You don't need to kill yourself while trying to fulfill your life, God will do(fulfill) that.
You need to find yourself in the midst of all this confusion. Find yourself and think about what you're living for. Only you can do this, others can just try to chip in a little and pray.
I will try to pray for you...
Lastly:
What will you live for?
