I don't know if I should, and I don't know how to do it. I want to shoot her at the beach but I also don't want to do anything good for her, and i know she would actually enjoy it. I'm a photographer :p and she dumped me a year ago. She wants me to shoot her for about an hour or so. I have the necessary equipment and all, its going to be nice out tomorrow to so lighting wont be a problem. I just kinda don't want to do anything nice for her, yet at the same time i dont want to mess up her pictures if i do it because then I'll look like a bad photographer. If i do it, i also don't know what to take.. she thinks she's a model now so she'll want model quality shots and I don't really do that type of photography. suggestions? should i just make up an excuse? should I just take the pictures? Anyone know any good sites with tips?

Come on Joe you are a "Pro"......charge her like you are one!! I think you should take her pictures, but, charge her and use and keep her negatives for your own portfolio......if you charge her then you won't be doing her a "favor". And you will benefit, too! Good luck, baby!

Many choices are in your front and you can select any thing.
1.Just avoid photo shoot. She may blame after that because she was your ex.girlfriend and need to take photos by YOU even if there is many other good photographers like you. What it means...?do you feel some thing smelling bad in it?
2. Or still she loves you and want to spend time with you again,You can shoot.Take a 17mm lens.fit a polariser on it,Shoot it with that. She will like a donkey in many shots. You can enjoy that.
3. Shoot as you do with other good models.make it a good work. And charge as you charge for others.Don't show much closer friendship.Don't remind the past. You are a professional.

First, reconsider how you word a question-This could be misconstrued. Second-If you and her are still on good terms then do the best work you can. If your not on good terms, and you have no obligations to her, then don't take the pictures. She should also understand how good a photographer you are and not expect more from you than what you can do. "Shoot my ex-girlfriend..."-if that doesn't just reach out and grab your attention.

Set up the shots however you like, and take whatever sort of shots you like. If the shots are for your gain, go ahead... you don't have to give her the prints. If the shots are solely for her gain, suggest that she find another photographer with whom there is no emotional interference.
