My girlfriend goes to FIU and I go to UCSD. We really love each other-- yes, it is a true love thing-- and we only see each other about 2 or 3 times a year. It really costs a lot of money to go to these two cities since they are both "famous/popular" cities of the U.S. Moving would also cost a lot of money which we don't have. We are both going to universities which we are both comfortable with; if you guys were to pick, which one would you say is a better college?
We talk hours and hours on the phone, and the relationship is very much alive even after a long time of not seeing each other physically. Please help, what should we do?!

NEW ADDITION Our relationship works, and we are truly perfect for each other; it isn't a fantasy, we have spent sufficient time together to know this. We've been going out for quite a while, beyond that time where one of us could have become bored with the relationship and moved on.
Webcams are great, but they are not the same as having physical contact

wow! that is a very uncommon thing to read from anyone! Well, you already know that it will cost you too much to see each other more often, in person. try the internet. we have webcams now right? that can help a lot
15 years ago, the internet was just a dream for everyone. I used to write to my girlfriend all the time. If you two can maintain a healthy relationship despite your distance from each other, you'll eventually end up together in the end. Just keep yourself busy so that you dont fall for the temptation of falling for someone else but instead remain faithful to her. a long distance love affair is very difficult to maintain. it takes patience and courage and a lot of selflessness. email her more often. use the webcam. try to be more creative every time you contact her so that she will remember every moment you get in touch with each other and for her to be more eager for your next call, email, or whatever. anyway, good luck and study hard. You'll make a better husband and dad if you do good in school!

Long distance relationships do not usually work, because you can't really get to know each other, because it's impossible to see each other in different situations, because you are not together on a daily basis. It's like a fantasy. You see each other the way you imagine. I think you need to be close geographically or find someone. It's inevitable that eventually you will split. Why waste your time?

the place did you progression from? have you ever been to San Diego interior the previous 3 months to work out her? How did issues look to you? Or, have you ever 2 no longer considered one yet another for 3 months? Too many unanswered inquiries to have the skill to furnish you good suggestion. notwithstanding, in case you have long previous to work out her, and he or she does not reciprocate, she's moved on. do no longer call or textual content textile or initiate any communication and see what happens. If she contacts you, that's good; if no longer you have your answer.

i would say ucsd is much better, and the locale is more enticing as well. but idk thats a toughy, long distance relationships suck, im sure u didnt want to hear that but its the truth. you just need to understand your boundaries and respect the other persons wants and expectations and be confident in yourself and trust your partner, without trust it is doomed, especially with the added distance. and know that after college, and your studies are finalized, you are more likely to have the time, money, and ability to visit each other more often if not move in together

Although it's not the same as being there in person, you might consider buying a web-cam as a more affordable way of " seeing ".....
your girl.

One of you could do a "visiting student" semester at the other's university or at least a nearby university.
