I could say "the sky is blue" and someone would vote it as a bad answer. I mean really people. You watch, I bet you this question gets reported anyway....

I was wondering that. Sometimes my answers get thumbs down and I can't figure out why. It would be nice if Yahoo allowed people to add comments for why something gets a thumbs down.

I agree. I think some people go willy nilly down the answer and thumbs down everyone. Some people don't like the way you phrase something. I only give a thumbs down for factually incorrect statements or statements I find offensive. I just got a thumbs down for an answer that I thought was pretty harmless and a direct answer to the question.

Because of arrogance, stupidity, ignorance, racism, bigotry, hatred, religion, to boost their self esteem of imaginary superiority, or they really think it matters. If a question is not chosen the best answer by the asker then the question wasn't answered correctly to suit the needs of the asker. I know I'm going to get thumbs down for this answer, but I don't care, I'm only here for the beer.

I only give thumbs up. However if somone is being a total jerk I will give thumbs down but NOT just because i dissagree with someone.

You can quote straight from the dictionary and get "thumbs down" on here. I don't pay much attention to it, though.

They get a jolt of "power" when they click on the report abuse button. It is the only source of power in their lives, so don't be so hard on them. heh
