RAR is not a sound file format, but a compression archiving format like ZIP.

You're probably looking for music contained within the .RAR file. You don't play that kind of file, but instead you look to extract or unzip the archive to see what's inside. Look for a utility called WinRAR.

rar file is a compresion tool.. it depends on whether your multimedia or music software can play that specific tyle of file extension.. for better music sound and experience.. use J RIVER MEDIA center which can be downloaded at download.com type IT IN THE SEARCH BUTTON.. ok..
