A troop is one individual soldier and a Troop is a group of soldiers similiar to a Company. Cavalry Squadrons have troops. I do not remember specifically but I rember in my cav Troop we had maybe 100 soldiers plus or minus. Don't quote me though. A Squadron in the cav is similiar to a Batallion in the infantry or Armor units. If you substitute Company when you see Troop you will be close size wise.

That means 20,000 individual people. 1 troop= 1 person, of course the 20,000 are compiled into battilions, platoons, squads which will make up the 20,000.

Troop=soldier. 6 months down the road, and it'll be another "we need 20,000 more troops, then the violence will stop".
