What is a good hair dye product?

Question

I've been wanting to dye my hair for like a month and I think I finally have enough courage to do it...what's a good product to use?

also...did you have any negative experiences with dying your hair (other than the fact you might not have liked the color...)

I'm kind nervous about dying my hair but I really want to! I have medium brown hair and I want to dye it to a reddish brown...

any advice is welcomed! thanks!!!

If you have really healthy hair and care about it I would go with a semi permanent, it doesnt damage your hair as bad as permanent, herbal essences makes a decent semi permanant.

Make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair to lessen the amount of fading.

Find a Paul Mitchell Salon and ask for the 20 minute ammonia free PM Shines color! That would be your safest bet....it won't ruin your hair, it's fast, and it'll make it shinier! Plus if you don't like it, it'll be easier to get out than other colors!!!

I have been coloring my hair for 20 years (I'm only 34) and I can safely say that hair color these days is alot safer than it was back when. I concur with one person who answered, the PM Shines is a great line, but also check out Matrix salons as well. They use Color Sync demi-permanent shades and SoColor permanent shades. These types leave your hair in amazing condition. Honestly, I wouldn't use anything other than Matrix colors.
