whats the whole point of life if we're just going to die? One day, Earth is probably going to die out anyway. So whats the point of living onn earth if when we die, we'll meet God? Why don't we start off in heaven anyway?

We did start out in Heaven ... we became restless, so God continued to create lower planes so all souls could be "entertained". We continued to descend until finally reaching the physical plane (the toilet bowl of all planes). Our passions and desires keep us enslaved on the physical plane (Earth). The point of life is to come to realize how separation from God has created the yearning we feel (separation anxiety) and to allow us to begin searching for our path back home. One day we will be back in Heaven, from whence we came.

I think the point of life is to struggle & learn constantly making yourself a better human being thru your learning while never giving up. I think the point of life is to bond with family, friends, animals, nature, our earth, maybe not all of these at once but to leave this earth feeling like you have loved as well as have been loved. I also think that your meaning of life will be different from my meaning. Everyone has goals that they want to reach before they die or else they should try to learn about themselves in order to find those goals. Some people may have simple goals such as owning a house, having children, getting married, or having a successful career. Other people may have a totally different set of goals to accomplish before their death. They may want to climb the highest mountain, learn to fly, travel, be famous, or rich. When people have goals they have something to keep them going everyday in order to achieve their goals & when they've acheived them they may sit back & relax & enjoy the rest of their lives or they may create new goals to continue their journey. If you don't have any goals whatsoever in your life, you are probably like me & in a part of your life where you feel what's the point? I could sit here & name lots of reasons why I'm feeling this way right now. However, I know that I'm going to pull myself out of that & kick myself in the a*s & figure out what the hell I'm here for because I do believe everyone has a purpose even if it's just something small. I've babbled enough. I know everyone has different views on the meaning of life & it usually focuses around religion, but I think you have to find within yourself what YOUR purpose is in life in order to know what the point of being here in the first place is~

Not everyone will meet God when they die. We were born
into this world so that we might become the children of
God, IF we choose to accept Him as our Lord and Savior
through belief and trust in Jesus Christ. It is God's will that
all should get to Heaven, but only by faith and trust in Christ
will we get there. Those that trust Him, God works through
them to reach others. Jesus said, "I came that they might
have Life and have it more abundantly". Jesus did not come
to this earth as God in the flesh and die on a cruel cross
for people already in Heaven. The point of living on this earth
is to experience the opportunity of having the chance to reach
Heaven.

There is no ultimate point of life. Life is what you make it.

Your point is a good one though, it was one I often asked myself back when I was a Christian. Why waste all this time on Earth if the main event is Heaven? Why not skip the rehearsal and get down to actual concert? Unfortunately you are thinking from a Christian perspective which focuses more on the afterlife then this one. Since no one has ever come back from the dead, no one really knows what is beyond the grave. You have to live your life to its fullest AS IF it is the only one you have. Because wouldn't it be a crying shame if it was and you were planing on having all eternity? That's not to say there isn't an afterlife, but really who knows?

What's the point of an amusement park ride? It's eventually going to end. What's the point of going on vacation? You eventually have to come home. What's the point of going to school? You'll just forget everything. What's the point of eating? You'll just get hungry again later. What's the point of getting out of bed? You'll just get tired again. You should make a T-shirt that says: "So, this is it. We're all going to die."

Maybe we SHOULD start out in heaven. I hear it's nice. Very nice. Very, very, very nice. Just nice, nothing but nice...

Or maybe I'll take a look at those T-shirts again.

Because we are here. Now. And we are going to hopefully be here for many, many years. While we are here there are things to do, fun to be had, stuff to learn, and other people to help. It's a busy time. My big problem is that I don't think 70 or 80 or 90 years is enough.

Life is for living. And if you are religious then you can believe that god put you here for a reason.

Enjoy

Yeah, you'd think if God was so eager to have people to keep him company in heaven, he would have just created people in heaven right from the start, huh? But, I don't believe any of that God nonsense. When we humans die (just like all other living things), our bodies are recycled back into nature, right down to the atomic level, to provide energy for other living things. Death is not so pointless when you think of it that way.

Because when Earth does die out, that will be LONG after we have lived, so we should live life to the fullest while we can..

'cos we're not worthy enough to start off in heaven. What you do on earth will decide where you go later. Not everyone's gonna get to heaven. Point is, we DID start off on earth, and when sin came into the picture, no one was meant to go to heaven, until Jesus came down to break the barrier.

The point of life is to touch others. If you can reach someone or affect another person's life than life is worth living. Also, its to have some fun and enjoy it while you are here. Afterlife is not guarenteed so you should do what makes you happy and do what fulfills you.
