I see homophobia based on the Bible, I see people advising Christians not to marry their non-religious loved one, because it would be 'unevenly yoked', I see hatred, etc, etc.

I'm not saying it's only Christians that are bad, every group has bad apples. But this is the group that keeps on telling me that "I need Jesus in my heart to be able to feel true love".

Is it weird that more and more I get the feeling there is a group of Christians that could better use a little more Jesus in their brain, instead of their so called hearts?

Starchildx31: I thought about it. I don't see why an atheist can't value Jesus' message of love. Because I do. It's written in a book, ya know? Btw, adding 'think about it' to a statement, doesn't make the statement more valid. Think about it.

Excellent point. One that most people turn a blind eye to. But the truth is, Jesus told his disciples, "This is how they will know you are my disciples, because of the love among yourselves." Most Christians are NOT EVEN CLOSE to following this.

I think its great that even though you don't beleive in god, you recognize the good priciples from Jesus.

Yes totally. Christians are Christians because of Jesus, even though he didn't say hey people worship me. Jesus was a philosopher with an awesome philosophy, and Christians seem to have over looked Jesus's entire philosophy and only listen to what the bible says or the church says. What would Jesus do? Hello? Jesus wouldn't judge gay people, or people not of the same religion who are in love. Jesus says love one another and treat others the way you want to be treated....so where is the love?

you're not any further reminding, yet telling. you haven't examine the words of Christ very heavily. there are a variety of of examples to contradict what you're claiming....my well known.....Luke 12:51-fifty 3 (see lower than). in case you fairly learn Jesus' words, you'll locate it wasn't noticeably about love. examine, and then accuse, for there are more suitable constructive methods to debase Christianity, and this manner isn't efficient. 51 assume ye that i'm come to provide peace on earth? I allow you to recognize, Nay; yet fairly branch: fifty 2 For from henceforth there'll be 5 in a unmarried abode divided, 3 hostile to 2, and a pair of hostile to three. fifty 3 the daddy will be divided hostile to the son, and the son hostile to the daddy; the mum hostile to the daughter, and the daughter hostile to the mum; the mum in regulation hostile to her daughter in regulation, and the daughter in regulation hostile to her mom in regulation.

You're absolutely right. I'm not an Atheist, but I agree more with Atheist values, than with Christian fundamentalist values. I'm not a Christian either but I'd say that I follow the teachings of Jesus more than most Christians do.

Actually, we need jesus in our head and hearts. Why are you becoming an athiest? You are allowed to marry non-christians, but it is a bit of a risk. The beauty of marrying non-christians is turning them into christians! That's twice as good as marrying christians! And, saving people is the greatest thing you can do for God. I'm planning on becoming a missionary. I'll get so many rewards in heaven..i cant wait! :P

because those are just one kind of christians. wacko, psycho ones who follow every single word in the bible because they think u will go to hell when there is really no hell or devil in the first place. they are a bunch of hyprocrites because jesus is all loving and forgiving. I consider myself a christian but i don't feel the need to follow EVERY single rule in the bible just to go to heaven. God would never do that to anyone because he is all loving duh! hell and the devil is just to put people on check so just ignore those kinds of people they are whack!

Maybe because we are all on some path...the Path of Life, and some of us have taken it upon ourselves to help set those who have wandered off that path back onto it. Don't matter what your label yourself or what others label you. We all humans in dis boat.
