Yes. There have been sev. studies that prove it does. Stress internally affects all your organs/system, leading to ulcers, high b/p, heart diseases. etc...The studies are usually on people in high profile/stressful positions in their 40-50s.

It depends, with my dad it did, by 43 he had his first stroke, by 50 he had his second stroke, by 57 he had his first heart attack and in two weeks following that he had 21 more heart attacks and died. That is an extreme case and smoking certainly played a huge part but my point is stress can cause so many health problems. I have an anuyrism and stress for me is a no no, whereas some people seem to thrive on a certain amount of stress. Just try to eliminate stress and if you can't maybe take up yoga or meditation. I thought they were all nonsense but so far they have worked for me.

There are a great number of factors that effect longevity of life. Stress can shorten your life span as well as cause all kinds of other health problems (heart, circulatory system etc...) Stress during your younger years causes longer lasting effects on your system than stress at older ages. What you consider stress may not be stress to others, so you should consider that as well.

One more thing that can kill us, right? sigh. Well, unfortunately stress does in fact shorten your life. It causes physical problems, affecting many different body systems. Headaches, bowel problems, blood pressure problems, ulcers. I took a course on stress, and that is about the gyst of it. Take care.

I don't think so. Everyone is different. Your gonna go when your gonna go. Even healthy stress free people die. Sometimes even at a young age from something as common as an aneurysm.

I'm unsure about immediately shortening it but it will decrease your general wellbeing and thus your health thus reducing your life expectancy... so i guess the broad answer is yes!
