What are good programs for making slideshows with music in the background...all price ranges?

I've read so many reviews thus far on all sorts of software, some are limited...some crash/freeze often...some don't offer enough features...some won't play music with the slide show or won't play long segments/freezes on lengthy bits of music.
If anyone has experience on this topic please reply...
