I'm almost 19, my bf is 19, we've been going out for about a year, & I'm 100% sure he is the one I want to spend my life with. I'm so deeply in love w/ him & he loves me also, but I hear from many people that I am too young to know who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I've been told that I'm too young, naieve and inexperenced in life to know what I really want (in that department). It's hard to think of my furture without him in it, I'm not sure what I'd do w/o him. I know we are both too young to get married now; I wouldn't even consider it untill I graduated college & we both have stable jobs, but is it so bad that I've made that decision?

I think the main reason that people use the age argument is because you aren't done developing as a person. What I mean by that is that many people go though a dramatic personal change once they attend college. This is especially true if you live in a small town and move to a larger area. When a person meets new people, engages in new experiences, and explores the possibilities of the world outside the community they grew up in, sometimes their life course changes completely. Then again, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not saying that you are wrong in your belief. I am simply saying that you should be prepared to keep an open mind as you try to evolve into who you want to be in life, and if it is meant to be after seeing the full picture, then so be it. Some of the happiest couples in the world met in high school. Only time will tell if this is the case for you as well.

you're not getting married yet so i don't see a problem being commited. you're in love, and you should enjoy it.
wait to consider marriage until you both have good careers and have the stabilty in life required to make a marriage work (cause it's FREAKING HARD).
until that time, you can work on that foundation of trust, understanding and friendship required, and theres nothing wrong with that at 19, you're more than old enough to make that call.

Well I think that it is good that you will wait until after college. You should go with what you think is best and with your heart. Oh this is a little fun fact that i picked up over that time 77% of people get married to their high school sweet heart.

It's definitely okay to feel that way - if it turns out after you graduate that you still love each other as strongly as you do, then it was meant to me. Your friends and family may see the situation a little more objectively, and just want the best for you - for love can peak, and love can fade...

Don't listen to anyone else.. you obviously love him and it's not like you want to get married tomorrow or anything so I don't see a problem. I'm sure the answers will come to you in the future

Yes dear, you are too young.
You can enjoy a relationship with no need to get married. Go out, enjoy each other and if you are right together, time will tell.
Please wait and see.

i think that you should just wait a little bit longer. work some things out that has been ignored or dismissed until then. problems, things like that. talk about it with him.
maybe he feels the same way.
and if he does, psshh you've got a keeper. :]
