I am 41 years old and I am "growing" my hair out. I am a little plump and my hair is past my shoulders. I straighten it most days but I do curl it up. I don't like to wear it up unless I am driving or just with my family. My bangs are longer than my nose. I am not sure if I want to get it cut or if I just want to color it again. What should I do???

It sounds wonderful to me. I am partial to longer hair on women. (on their heads) And I love bangs on any female. I wear my hair long, and I don't really care what anybody thinks about it. People can like me for me, or they won't. Not my loss....you go girl and do what makes YOU happiest. I'll back you up.

Keep your hair longer than your shoulders. If a woman is plump, she looks plumper and frumpy if it's above the shoulder. But keep it only a few inches past the shoulder. Secondly, do you have layers? Layers are very stylish and keep your hair looking fresh and moveable. With layers it wouldnt matter if it was curled or straight. The bangs would really depend on your face shape. The swoop bang looks great on many face shapes and is very stylish and in right now. This requires a longer bang, like you have. Just part your hair to the side and blow dry it under so it swoops over. Full fledged bangs (like cheerleader kind) I think look a little childish.

Since your 41 years old and want to grow your hair out long, maybe you should get your hair cut in long layers to shape your face a lil and if you want to color your hair again try high lighting it, maybe with a lighter shade then what your natural hair color is but its all up to you. Good luck

Why don't you just cut the bangs and let the rest grow out. Try a new color.
