I realize Italian Greyhounds have high metabolisms but I actually don't exercise him that much, but he's still always hungry. Whenever he sees people food he goes berserk, but it's not like I can give him some and he'll be fine, he'll want more... he's never satisfied.

What are you feeding him? Is he a good weight or is he too fat or too thin? Is he drinking more than you might expect? Has he been dewormed? You might want to see your vet--your dog may have a medical problem which causes him to be hungry all the time; you may want to switch foods; he might just be a mooch; he may need more exercise; he may be bored and trying to get more food is a way to occupy his time. I would definitely see a vet--he or she might be able to pick up something that you have missed.

Good luck!

I have a friend that has 3 ig's. There all diffrent but one of them is always hungry. Even if you just fed her. Some times thats just the way things are. Do however go to the vet to check for a worm. Not the kind in dog poo, check that too. A tape worm in the tummy. Like I said the one I've seen can eat my great dane sick. Good Luck.

You can get dewormer from the store you do not have to go to the vet for it and it will not hurt him. If after deworming him feed him according to the ammounts printed on the side of your dog food bag (or can) and put him on a schedule. If you are still worried take him to the vet. It will only be about 50.00 for peice of mind! BTW I love the Italian Greyhound, I almost bought one.

You need to make sure he is not sick maybe worms or parasits Also sounds like he is bored. Does he have toys and bones to play with? Does he have ample attention from you?

my moms dog has cushings disease (not sure on the spelling of that) and he has the same symptoms of constantly being hungry and very thirsty. It is some sort of cancer. medication and therapy are options though if this is your case.
