Straight out, NO. It's as the first person said, "frozen juice."

I worked at Cold Stone Creamery about 2 years back and I was one of the few people who made the Ice-Cream. The sherbert involved NO milk. But, I wouldn't be asking a Health question like that on here. I would call the manufacture of such products and ask about such things.

Good-luck!! Hopefully some day soon you will be sitting right next to him, looking at him while you put a spoonful of sherbert in your mouth laughing at him. =)

yes it does have milk

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherbert
Sherbet (often pronounced sherbert in American English) is a frozen dessert made from iced sweetened fruit juice or puree. Sherbets usually have more ingredients, such as milk, egg whites, or gelatin, than sorbets, which are generally made from iced fruit puree and other ingredients. Sherbet in the United States must have a milkfat content between 1% and 2%, and a slightly higher sweetener content than ice cream; else, it must be sold as ice cream if the fat content is higher or sweetener content lower, ice milk if milk or sweetener content is lower, or as sorbet if no milk is present at all. American sherbets have a minimum density of 6 lb/gal (720 g/L) and are flavored either with fruit or other ingredients.

Sherbet does not have milk as far as I have ever seen. Ice cream is just that ice-cream(milk). I have never heard of sherbert ice cream. Read the lable to make sure. If your intolerance is great, might want to call the company that produces it. May use the same equipment to do ice cream.

Sorbets do not have milk, sherbert does. Breyer's is also making a lactose free ice cream. We have it in St. Louis.

i'm lactose intolerant too and i eat the cheap sherbert (because its basically frozen koolaid) or sorbet (which is more expensive but made with real fruit) or i just make my own... frozen fruit (sams club big bag) and a little fruit juice (any flavor) in a blender, make a little or a lot and freeze the rest

Yes.

Get yourself some "SOY DELICIOUS" ice cream! Absolutely no nasty dairy products in it and it tastes so good. They even sell it at Wal-Mart now in quarts. I like the mocha fudge kind. :D

yes sherbet does contain milk. have you ever considered trying something like lactaid, or one of those pills that are supposed to keep you from getting sick from milk?
