It's more likely to be your heart-rate that will burn off the calories... To burn off calories efficiently you need to raise your heartbeat and get your body working...sweating doesnt use calories as such, but contributes towards dehydrating you during excercise. Make sure you drink plenty during any excercise you do, whether you're sweating or not. If you are fully hydrated and sweating, it's more likely to clear out your pores and do your skin more good, like a detox.... if you dont, your body will think it's being deprived of fluid, and cling onto any that you do take, and you may gain weight. Drinking at least 2ltr of water a day will go a long way to help with weightloss too.
Best of luck

Calories are units of energy. If you are sweating from working out, you're probably using a lot of calories as fuel to do whatever you're doing, but you can sweat and not really be using any more calories than normal and vice versa. If you want to lose weight, eat healthy and reduce your caloric intake slightly (not too much or your body will think it needs to save what little food it gets) and exercise. You don't have to sweat though to be burning a lot of calories, it just is often a side effect.

I can tell you what works for me...exercise!
I go every day after work to a cardiovascular oriented gym for a 30 minute workout at my own pace. I go once a week to another gym just to use the treadmill for one hour. The treadmill is known for it's ability to burn calories. I like to sweat when I work out, because for me I feel like I'm making progress.
Running, or even walking at a fast, steady pace is another good form of exercise that will help to burn calories.
I try to eat my dinner before 7pm, and if I get hungry later, I try to eat fruit.
Once you start an exercise program and stay on it on a regular basis, 3-5 times a week, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel physically and mentally!
Good luck to you and stay healthy!

Some people say the more you sweat the more you burn, but some people naturally dont sweat much. I wouldnt worry. As long as you feel the tone in your mucles and you feel good about your self thats what matters. You will see results with time and effort.

i've heard that u only lose weight if u sweat but u still lose weight if u don't sweat since sweating is only a way for the body to cool itself off...however if u r excercising hard and do not sweat, there is sumthing wrong...u might want to get that checked out
