i found a stray cat and its kittens, we can't keep it and we've contacted the australian cat protection association and they said it'll cost us to get them taken away. is there any other way? we want them to have safe homes but we can't pay 300$ to do so.

Post a sign " Free kitten to a GOOD home" or give her to a friend that loves CATS.

Are there any cat rescues in your area? I would think that Sydney would have several. You could also post flyers at local vet clinics and pet stores to see if anyone would like them. I would not put an ad in the paper since sometimes nasty people respond to "free to a good home" ads. If there is a local veterinary medical association they may be able to help you. If you can afford to provide vaccinations, deworming, and/or spay/neuter for any of the cats, that would also make them more adoptable.

Good luck and thanks for helping these cats!

post flyers with pictures of kittens that say "Free Kitties to Good Home!" You should get a few responses. Also, ask your freinds and relatives if they'd like a kitty.

I miss Sydney! Hot there right now, ah? I'm freezing here.

Is there any way you could take care of them as outside cats? Leave some food for them a few times a day? We do that-we have 8 outsiders. The important thing to do would be to get them spayed & neutered, or you'll have more than you can handle in short order.

I'd hate to see them be euthanized. How about Googling for resources in your area?

Go online and find the closest RSPCA. The RSPCA don't put down animals so this is the best place to take them if you can't keep them.

You can always post a flyer at a church or some place nice saying, "Cat and kittens in need of home. Call ..." etc.

Ask your friends if they want a kitten and tell them that they're really cute. Do you not have an SPCA? They take animals for free.

Give these folks a call. If they can't help you it's very likely they will be able to refer you to someone who can.
