Our school system is falling apart! VISD has had to hire 3 New superintendents in the last 5 years, and now they have the system at the high school set up so weird. 8 classes ... can you believe it? 8 !! And I'm taking them all A.P. ... can you imagine how many times i've wanted to kill myself already? It's so stressing to have 8 classes a day at the high school to have to worry about .. what do you think? Overthrow our Superintendent?

8 AP classes is too much , but that was YOUR decision, not the superintendents. Most schools do have 8 periods but one is lunch and another one would be study hall or phy ed. which leaves six academic classes. Some schools have four periods but they are double length classes, that is called a 4x4 block system.

Where I am from there were 2 types of high school, those that had the semester system and had 4 or 5 longer classes a day and a change in classes halfway through the year, and then those like yours with 8 classes for the whole year.
Many schools have been switching to the semester system, perhaps you could start a petition for yours to make the switch.

When I was at school we had an "A" day and "B" day. One day was for our Core classes and the other was for the extra curricular classes. Although our classes were a bit longer but I feel with the days split up it was easier to learn and less stressful as far as homework and keeping up with normal studies. I would definitely get a petition going around to see if something can be changed. That's absolutely ridiculous!!

Thats what I grew up in! 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
Teenagers only have an attention span of 15 minutes anyway.
I guess thats the theory.
