They stay in the relationship, because they truly love each other and not because it is too diffucult or too afraid to break up

I argue/fight with my bf all the time. It's a huge up and down emotional rollercoaster, but I'm sensitive and I know that. But even through it all, I've never even considered breaking up with him NOT because I would be afraid to, or any of those other reasons, but because I know that he never truly means to make me upset and I forget every now and then all the things he does for me.

I think we cannot do surveys but that would be the best possiblity to know the realty. On my viewpoint, however, only a maximum of 40% are in real love. The world is so material nowadays and more than love fancy things surround us which make couples stay together shorter. I've had several problems with my ex-gfs because of tastes changing every week and also being nice with my friends gfs meant a lot in rupturing their relationship. the main problem i think is, that once you are in a relationship you take for granted the other.

There is a thin line between being comfortable and being in love, but you should always give yourself and others the benefit of the doubt.
