I had a meal with lots of onions and garlic yesterday night for dinner, and the taste won't go away! I am so self-conscious that I have bad breath. I have vigorously brushed my teeth and tongue four times today and gargled. Why won't the taste go away? How can I get rid of it?

Rinse your mouth with lemon juice and water. Eat some fresh parsley. Chew a citrus peel. Or, cook your onions before you eat them. The "onion breath" odor comes from eating raw onions.

Lemon juice will also remove onion smells from your hands and kitchen implements.

Coffee is a great neutralizer.

Mouthwash, breath mints, chewing gum might cover up the smell temporarily but the onions and garlic have to pass through your system. In the future, if you're worried about bad breath, don't eat onions and garlic or just eat them on Friday (assuming you will stay at home over the weekend).

Actually all the suggestions above only help to mask the odor, not neutralize it. The odor doesn't just come from your mouth, it comes from your blood. That's why pee stinks like onions after you've eaten them. Garlic is even more potent. Doctors have experimented with rubbing garlic on people's FEET and they get garlic breath a few hours later.

I've heard of different types of remedies for such a situation. But I did some research and this is what I found:

1. Drink some tea after eating onion/garlic.
2. Drink Lemonade.
3. Eat a yogurt.
4. Drink a glass of milk.
5. Chew a mint leaf or any other strong flavored herb (preferably fresh).
6. Eat a full tea spoon of sugar.

Hope this helps (and works)!!

Good-luck.

If you are a normally healthy person, wait for a few days without taking any medicine. Your VITAL FORCE will cure it automatically in due course. But if you take any medicine to suppress, it will lead to some more serious disease.

If after some days, without trying to cure it by suppressants, the problem remains then it is a matter of concern and the only solution is to consult a HOMOEOPATH. He will cure YOU in totality.

Best of luck.

If you have a box of baking soda, then wet your brush and dip it in the baking soda and brush away....Baking soda absorbs a lot of odors . Don't forget to brush the back of your tongue also. (also use 1/2 tsp. in gym shoes overnight for odor).
I have a box in my bathroom and use it every other day to brush with......good luck
