I know that it is near the Quebec border, there is the Adirondack Mountains nearby, and it is very cold.

Yes. It's WAY upstate - about four hours from NYC. It's a tiny little town.

Yes. Cold and lots of snow. Kinda in the middle of nowhere. Maybe not so cold these days.
