I just got back from 2 weeks in southern Portugal over Christmas. Had a week of perfect offshore 4-6 foot surf with no-one out over the Christmas period. Best surf trip I've ever been on.
Ive also done a week on boat in Indonesia (Bali, Lonbok, Sumbawa) which was amazing, but you need to be comfortable taking off in very powerful, sucky waves over shallow coral (which I wasn't)
Another really good road trip to do is the east coast of Australia from Sydney to the Gold Coast - some really good remote places to camp right on the beach, and lots of good secret spots to discover if you're willing to explore.
Also, Morocco is really good as well. Go down south to a place called Taghazout. Lots of really good spots in close proximity, the best being Anka Point. You gan rent a place right on the point for $5 per person per night, if you have a group of 6 or so.
France is also well worth a look. Fly to Biarritz and head nothe 30min to the beachbreaks around Hossegor

Hawaii, Oahu- North Shore The Pipeline, and Sunset Beach. I would stay at the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki, and surf is walking distance, but South Shore Bowls or DiamondHead Beach is awesome. Enjoy!

Where do you live? How well do you surf? North Shore in Hawaii will take your breath away but do not enter if you aren't crazy. Same for Half Moon Bay in California.
