I have a Min Pin / Chihuahua. She's tiny and makes for a great little dog. She's not loud and she loves to cuddle. Perfect for create traveling too ! She has the best traits of both her parents.

research every breed listed as a toy. in this group most dogs do not get over 8lbs. please don't buy from any petstore ever. or any breeder that advertises tiny, teacup or a miniature version of a dog that shouldn't be minature. such as a mini st. bernard or boxer type of dog. also if you can't see where the pup was born and raise and at least one parent. run don't walk away from this type of breeder. find a breeder that screens and monitors the health and temperment of their breeding stock. many quality show breeders will often offer pet quality dogs for reduced prices. personally i would go to your local shelter or humane society. they will be able to take your info and match your with a dog that fits your description, or is a mix or purebred dog of the breeds that you have researched to fit your needs and lifestyle. good luck.

There is no such thing as a teacup of any breed, it is just a marketing ploy. I would go with a Yorkie or Maltese because I prefer their temperaments, but you could also get a Chihuahua. I would try to find one that matures under 5lbs, that is still pretty small. My cousin has a Maltese (that wasn't sold as a teacup) that only weighs 3lbs, she is just a little bigger than a guinea pig. But, I have seen Maltese that were sold as being a teacup that matured to be 10lbs.

The smallest breed is the Chihuahua. There is no such thing as a teacup and extra small bred dogs are more prone to health problems because they were bred to be sickly small.

A chihuahua is the smallest of the breeds..Many people choose this breed because it is so small..Just make sure it is happy, well fed, and healthy.

there are a few smarter then some but l believe that all breeds are smart if they have a good master and trainer.one breed is poodles but l do not know the others. but my opinion, they all can be with the proper training , a good master, and a caring one to them. and a trainer is the one to make a smart dog Thur obedience to see that it does not harm no one or anything
