yes, it does. but as a population we are getting really confused about what it is by media - including the way love is portrayed in movies, in magazines, tabloids about how celebrities toss that word around, etc. If you want to look to a religious source, Jesus Christ showed his love for man through his sacrifice for man. He did not expect anything back.

On a more mortal level, we still show and feel love through a few things: genuinely wanting to have that person in your life, making sacrifices for that person unconditionally, wanting to grow and mature together, wanting to care for the well-being and happiness of that person, accepting that person for what they are, etc. The feeling should be very strong, strong enough to forget your own selfishness and be concerned for that person.

All that stuff about loving a person to get into their pants? that's not love. Take a look at old folks holding hands walking in a park, the way they look at each other and their eyes are engaged, seeing that contentness in their faces when they're with one another. that's love.

Love does exist! It sounds corny, but when you meet the one you will know. Not like a bolt of lightning or anything like that. All the fireworks in the beginning is all lust. Your love will be your friend, your lover, your companion, your caretaker. They will love you no matter how much money you make, or how handsome you are. Love does exist, you just need to know how to determine lust and like from true love and commitment. When people ask me why I love my spouse and if we'll last I say.......if when we're 70 and sitting at the table eating our breakfast, and I don't want to leap across the table and choke him for the way he chews his cereal, we're doing good!LOL!!!!

Todd, that's superb. the form you administration the rhythm of this poem extremely strikes me. The %. varies, and all of it reads okay. considering that I admire your writing sufficient to be quite nit-choosy, the only grievance I quite have is that the imagery interior the poem is superb until the line, "Does that supply you a clue?" - and then fairly plenty stops. The intelligence on your play on language, enormously at "each and each observe creates and confines," is easy. That line, however, could supply an excellent danger to depict visually creation with the aid of nomenclature. I won't insult you by applying suggesting the thank you to try this, yet i think of it quite is the only factor that should improve the final ingredient of the poem. super artwork - actually, greater beneficial than the already-sturdy writing I observed while final i become right here examining it.

Funny you should ask, I've pondered that for a while now and it seems to me that it doesn't.....We as a society always want something more and something better, there is no one person to make us happy and if they do it's only for a small period of time. True- you have my heart and I will be yours forever love, it's just not real.

of course it exists.

i'm in love and i know it's not just lust because this guy is my best friend. i can't imagine not having him around. we've done so much together in the past 5 years that has made us closer and i wouldn't trade that for anything.

Love is the most difficult word in the world to explain.

it does, of course it does.

there are still people out there who don't use love to get sex or have sex to feel loved.

there is still true love out there, you gotta believe in it though.
