You know when you get it done professionally they always wrap your hair in foil..is that special foil or can you do it yourself that way at home with a home kit?

Depending on the brand and product you use, you will probably not have to use foil. The main reason foil is used in salons is because the dye they use is runny. If you get the Loreal Hi-light Stylist kit, then there is no need to use the foils. They won't affect the outcome of your highlights. I just used the Loreal hi-light styliste kit the other day and my hair looks beautiful! You should try it!

I just highlighted my hair on new years eve at home. I did not use foil. I had never done it before by myself and they turned out awesome! I get so many complements. I got this garnier kit, the dye doesn't run so there is no need for foil from this kit. Good luck!

Yes, you can use foil, the girl that did my highlights used regular foil from the kitchen. She just cut in into strips that were big enough to fold around a strand of hair, make sure when you do this that you completely surround the hair strand, also when you check them that you do one on top and one underneath

dont do it!! sounds like you dont recognize a lot about hair colour. highlights are truly puzzling to do. and also you won't be able to use kitchen foil.bypass to a cosmetology college to get it achieved. its lower priced and scholars frequently recognize what they are doing

I wouldnt dye your hair at home. Find a beauty college near your area and have them do it. It is usually very inexpensive and they do a great job. Whenever I am on track for school I go to a Paul Mitchell hair school since they dont have a Toni and Guy (my main salon).

Well if someone has a clue you can't do it by yourself you will tire your arms and your hair will come out all kinds of colors and most you won't like.
Good luck
