98 Malibu and radio theft deterrent...after market radio?

Question

Ok so I am buying a 98 Malibu. And I know that the stock radio has a theft deterrent LOC program tied to the radio. (I don't know if that makes since. Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about). If I change out the stock radio with an after market radio (a Pioneer) will I still have to worry about the LOC program when the battery is disconnected? Or will the after market radio cure that problem?

No, that feature is built into the factory radio. The anti-theft feature will have no effect on the aftermarket radio
