The itching is a sign of allergy to the medicine. You should stop using it immediately, before you have a more serious allergic reaction. Call your physician and tell him/her about your symptoms and ask for a prescription for a different pain medicine.

I know that you must be feeling absolutely miserable with this itching, and I feel so sorry for you!!
You should call your doctor who prescribed the pain medication-you may be allergic to the medication.
If that's the case, the doctor will probably advise you to discontinue it immediately, and possibly to take Benadryl for the itching.
Make sure that the doctor knows if you're sensitive to Benadryl, or any products that contain Benadryl.) And, tell the doctor if you've ever had an allergic reaction to the particular pain medication before, if you've ever taken it to the best of your knowledge.
Do you have any contraindications for taking Benadryl? (enlarged prostate, or other medications, or medical conditions, that could possibly conflict with taking Benadryl or any other medication that you might be prescribed for your itching?)
I hope that you will be able to get relief very soon.

Sounds like you are allergic to the pain medication. Let your doctor know right away. THey will give you something else, and they will note your chart so you aren't prescribed that med again. Also, get some benedryl to relieve the itch. (Make sure it's ok with doc first) It may take a few days of benedryl to get it totally out of your system, but you will begin to feel relief in about 30 minutes. Good luck and get well soon! PS. dont forget the benedryl will make you sleepy.

Could try Benadryl if ok with md. A lot of pain medications make people itch because if narcotic, can releases a histamine reaction. Could be that your allergic as well(mostly if you develope hives, rash or other symptoms) .

Talk to your doctor IMMEDIATELY about this and ask for your meds to be changed.
In the meantime, check with your pharmacist to see if you can take Benadryl with your other meds. You can also use Calamine lotion (topical only).

YOU ARE REACTING TO THE MEDICATION. YOU ARE HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO THE PAIN MEDICATION. YOU NEED TO CALL YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO HE CAN GIVE YOU SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE PAIN. YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE A TEST RAN SO YOU WILL KNOW WHAT ALL YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO AND KEEP A RECORD OF IT.
