We are all so unique and respond in unique and diverse ways to events in our lives. I wouldn't want to belittle you by mentioning that this sounds a bit over done or make a mockery of myself by taking you seriously when you are not. At any rate I have found that with any trauma to your childhood - your child needs a rescue. The child had no control and a lack of control makes us feel helpless. If you could relive the event and go in as the advocate of the child (in your mind's eye) and proceed to do what you would for that child as an adult you may regain some power. This is not some hocus pocus thing but it stands to reason that the mind is where the trouble comes from that provoke the reaction of re-living it. If you could go into to that thought and take charge, standing up for the child and even forbidding and scolding the mother for such a ridiculous act then you take back the power that overpowered you. The power of your will. Go ahead and rescue that little one. She deserves to be treated with care.

Some of your story sounds made up. Instead of ridiculing you for it I think it is just another symptom of trauma. You have to get past your childhood, not forget it, but learn to live with it and not let it control you. Be the best person that you can be and you'll see that what happened in the past isn't who you are.. you'll be a lot happier when you become who you know you can be.

Maybe you have Freudian thoughts of having sex with your "mum" while either eating or wrestling in chocolate cakes...

Forgiveness is a good goal to work at. Sometimes forgiveness comes quickly, but when you are truly traumatized, you have to work at it every day.

You need therapy. At least chocolate won't tempt you as it does most of us.
