Are their any ideal situations or places where you would prefer a guy ask you for a number if he wishes to date you? That and how does a guy know if he has a shot at winning her number when there seems to be a little chemistry? Luck?

There is never an ideal situation, the only time a girl LIKES getting or giving a number away is when she thinks he's good looking. And if there is NO chemistry why would you want their number?

If there is already some type of chemistry going on, it shouldn't be a problem. Usually two people like each other, but doesn't like certain things about the person, for example if he's a too friendly guy that can get himself in trouble just by flirting or a too friendly girl that always wants to rub on someone, that won't lead to nothing in a relationship but headaches, arguments and accusations. So i'll just say ivaluate that person whom you want to throw some lines at first and get to know what kind of person they see themselves with and take it from there. I don't like that growing man still catching the bus trying to get my number and has no car that's not good. In a club, restaurant, the mall, school/work if chooses to, etc... can work. :)p

I'd say an ideal situation would be when the girl is alone. Dont ask her for her number in front of a group of people, because that could just make things uncomfortable. If you can make her laugh, engage her in a conversation, or if she seems to be enjoy being around you, i'd say you got pretty good chances!!

If you go to a church, that is an ideal place.
Also, bookstores seems to be good. You go to the section you like, and you are going to find likeminded individuals.
However asking her out to coffee during the day hours, is more of a place to get a number than in an evening or night setting. Women feel more vulnerable in a later in the day setting.
Also meeting them in a nice place where there aren't other couples cooing over one another is nicer on your part. A bar or other just seems to ooze, "Have I met you somewhere before" invites from men.

Well, my ideal situation is something like if you are hanging out with a whole bunch of people. Ask her before she leaves, that is if she leaves before you, or you can ask her before you leave. And give her a kiss on the cheek. Damn, why won't the guy I like call me?!?!?! I gave him my number!

I'd prefer a guy to get to know me a little before asking for my number. If your converstations are going well then give it a few days then ask her.

Watch her body language. When you approach, if she crosses her arms, legs or gives you a polite, but tight smile, she is not receptive. Even if she gives you a number it'll probably not be hers...

If she smiles BIG, laughs nervously, touches your arm, or even flirts back, you may be in luck...

#1 Dont assume we will give you our number....i hate that, be sincere, not a jerk!
#2 If conversation is great and she is laughing, ask her LAUGHTER is a great sign.
#3 If she lingers when goodye rolls around ask!
Good luck

what i would love it to be in my room at night and to have a guy send me a text message that says look outside. and when i looked outside he would make a hand motion to tell me to come outside and then when i went outside i would ask him why he was there and he would say for this and put his arms around me and pull me closer and kiss me. now that would be a good one
