Most Christians don't even realize that most of the days of the week are named in honor of Norse Gods.
You have a good point though. If they are going to make silly claims like people are calling out to their god when they are using a figure of speech, then they ought watch their own language because they are calling on Thor.

Really what is the point of your question? Heres a stab at a decent answer: There is no way that anyone can get around saying or being a part of Thursday. It is a day of the week. You can, however, choose not to say Oh, God!

I do and that i think of that's positive. right this is why. First, from the Evangelical perspective. If we verify out this commandment (Deuteronomy 5:11) we see that the word for call is "shem" and the word for "in ineffective" is "shev'." Thsse words are remarkably confusing to translate into English and have normally been taken to consult from the hassle-free speech act of asserting "oh my God" or something of the type. yet shem (call) surely skill greater like the attributes and identity linked with what we call a popularity particularly than the certainly word it relatively is the call itself. And shev' (in ineffective) skill greater like the state of being hollow and pointless, devoid of meaning or value. What that commandment is telling us is that we ought to constantly take God heavily. Now, i'm no longer Evangelical and that i do no longer enroll in any rules, fantastically from the previous testomony, keep the two suggestions to love God and Love my neighbor. asserting "Oh my God" as an exclamation does not advise something because of the fact it is touching on the factor to hand being a marvel or out of the usually happening. As such, it has an implicit meaning we are conveying approximately God - he ordered each and every thing, he comforts and protects. and relatively, we don't even advise that. that's purely syllables we utter an thay have no longer something to do with loving God or others yet they positioned across our meaning properly and that's good sufficient for me!
