That is, why does He insist on having his name and any pronoun pertaining to him CAPITALIZED? Just curious about how this started.

Yes.. I've wondered this myself - the "Him" and "He" and "His" usage is especially silly. I have always imagined that the capitalization, "God," was at least somewhat reasonable... as if it was a proper name like "Frank" "George" "Santa Claus" or "Rudy" ...but who ever heard of someone having pronouns as their proper names? Like, "God He Him His Allah," might be His full name...?
Go figure... it's just another mystery in the world of nonsense that makes up the fantasies of popular religious thinking. Let the children play.

"God" is a title specific to the person.
There are presidents and prime ministers, but each country has one specific President, or Prime Minister.
Because the title specifies an individual, the title is captialized.
The are many gods, but only one God.

This is an interesting question, especially when you realize that the devil is in the details. That would make you think that he would intentionally not concern himself with capitalization.

When people made up this God they thought it would be really impressive to have it GOD rather then God or god. It is all about how it looks not with what is real! After all THIS GOD IS AS REAL AS THE TOOTH FAIRY AND WE ALL KNOW THAT IS COMPLETELY MAN MADE!

I don't think He does; I do it out of the utmost respect. His name should be capitalized like anyone else's name, though. If your name were Bob, I would never type bob.
